The Cloud integrated GTM team is looking for research analysts to bolster our capacity in delivering timely, curated and actionable market insights to a broad range of internal stakeholders. Our goal is to support the organization in turning insights into strategy to achieve short-term and long-term business goals.


Role scope:

The Research Analyst will have several areas of responsibility related to competitor and other cloud industry players’ strategies, activities and performance. Key activities include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Track and analyze trends on market players fundamentals related to aspects of GTM strategy and execution, e.g.:
    • General GTM (segmentation, targeting, market share, etc.)
    • Sales strategy, role design, comp models
    • Partner ecosystem strategy and programs
    • Enablement and sales productivity best practices
    • Industry vertical GTM approaches and success rate
    • Customer success strategy and customer experience approaches
    • Financial results/earnings reporting
  • Support ad-hoc deep dive projects involving primary and secondary research regularly conducted in partnership with other teams, resulting in leadership reports and other briefing and communications artifacts covering multiple altitudes and audiences
  • Create and maintain briefing reports on broader customer needs and trends in the software/cloud industry (Iaas?PaaS/SaaS): and tracking key industries targeted by Google Cloud GTM strategy
  • Underpin reports and hypotheses with quantitative insights based on publicly available data sets or internally accessible systems
  • Monitor and report on market player product portfolio dynamics, such as:
    • Product launches, announcements, industry-reported differentiation points
    • Major event coverage coordination across teams for timely internal response actions
    • Internal insights gathering from sales systems, seller community and win/loss processes


Skills and Background:

  • Experience in intelligence gathering, primary and secondary research from public sources (open source intelligence) and non-public information through an array of sources (e.g. subscription services, interviews, partnering with specialist consultancies, etc.
  • Background/experience with cloud industry strategy analysis, market research, product portfolio tracking, rhythm of business/financial reporting, sales or customer success FTM
  • Self-motivated team player to work based on guidance from GTM strategy leads
  • Stringent program management skills in partnering with others across the hierarchy, driving alignment and provide clear and consistent communications.
  • Experiencei n producing high quality, creative and compelling artifacts in several formats with high attention to detail (whitepapers, presentations, infographics, analytics, etc.)
  • Seasoned and collaborative communicator who engenders trust through accurate, clear and actionable insights
  • Data analytics and numerical reasoning skills, including data interrogation techniques, databases, appropriate storytelling through visualization
