Nothing we could think to do removed the italic formatting. And even odder, this problem only occurred on certain workstations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bluew.com\/test2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/arial-black11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-958\" title=\"arial-black11\" src=\"http:\/\/bluew.com\/test2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/arial-black11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"171\" height=\"30\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After some sleuthing on Google, we discovered that the Windows Service Pack 3 upgrade apparently installs a new version of Arial Black that doesn&#8217;t perform correctly. Some of our workstations automatically installed the upgrade and some had not.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The solution is simple:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Go to C:WINDOWSFonts folder and delete the existing Arial Black file: <strong>ariblk.ttf<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Now go to C:WINDOWS$NtServicePackUninstall$ and locate <strong>ariblk.ttf<\/strong> (same file name but it will be the older version of Arial Black).<\/li>\n<li>Copy and paste this file into the C:WINDOWSFonts folder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Arial Black will now function as it should.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We encountered a strange situation\u00a0recently with the font Arial Black in PowerPoint: all instances of the font\u00a0suddenly turned italic.
