{"id":625,"date":"2009-03-17T10:53:50","date_gmt":"2009-03-17T17:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bluew.com\/blog\/?p=625"},"modified":"2009-03-17T10:53:50","modified_gmt":"2009-03-17T17:53:50","slug":"basic-steps-in-the-design-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nayamode.com\/blog\/basic-steps-in-the-design-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Basic Steps in the Design Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few years ago, Dave Nix outlined the basic steps Bluewave follows in taking a presentation design project from start to finish.<\/p>\n<h3>Format existing graphics<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Format all slides to the guidelines established in the template<\/li>\n<li>Implement a consistent layout throughout different sections<\/li>\n<li>Format all charts, graphs and tables for consistency and style<\/li>\n<li>Check and fix type treatments, fonts, type sizes and positioning<\/li>\n<li>Ensure colors follow the presentation&#8217;s color palette, and that color is used a consistent manner throughout<\/li>\n<li>Link all slides to the master slides and template elements (e.g., bullet text to the outliner) so that global edits can be made to the file<\/li>\n<li>Check grayscale settings to ensure graphics and text print correctly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Add new graphics<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Add graphical treatments such as box styles, rule lines, table structures<\/li>\n<li>Add graphic illustrations where requested<\/li>\n<li>Scan, import and clean up product photography, as needed<\/li>\n<li>Rework charts, tables\u00a0and graphics to achieve communication clarity<\/li>\n<li>Add animation in consistent, captivating and attractive way throughout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Copy editing and proofing<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Check for spelling<\/li>\n<li>Check for correct and consistent grammar<\/li>\n<li>Check for consistency of product names, acronyms, dates, source treatments, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few years ago, Dave Nix outlined the basic steps Bluewave follows in taking a presentation design project from start to finish.
